Haul! Sephora, MAC, Ulta, Target

This past weekend I did a little damage. I originally planned on only getting a few items. I've been hearing a lot of whispers about the Sonia Kashuk blushes, and thought I'd give it a try. I also wanted to stop in Ulta and get a couple NYX Butter Glosses. Lastly, I wanted to try one of the Buxom Lip Cremes in White Russian. However, for some reason when I went into Sephora some crazed animal got a hold of me and I bought a few other items. I will do full reviews of everything soon but wanted to get this up before hand!

I picked up:
Josie Maran Eyeshadow quad in Beautiful Nudes
Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer
Josie Maran Argan Color Stick in Spice
Josie Maran Argan Color Stick in Coral (LOVE!)
MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul
MAC Pro Bronzing Power in Nude on Board from the Temperature Rising Collection
MAC lipstick in Altered Beige from the Temperature Rising Collection
MAC lipstick in Syrup
Dior Amber Diamonds

Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm

As I was browsing my local Walmart I ran into these new lipgloss balms from Almay. I decided to pick up a few, when I realized the price was only $4.47 I picked up a few more ;)

I bought 6 colors, picture is in order: 500-Pink Pout, 600- Blooming Balm, 200- Nudetrients, 900- Apricot Pucker, 700- Cantaloupe, 800- Rosy Lipped.

I would describe these as feeling like my typical lip balm. They do not feel heavy at all, the color pay off is as expected of a balm but just a little bit more. They can be subtle and provide a tint to the lips or they can be built up (mainly the more bright colors) for more true colors, but I would not say these could be built up at much as these revlon lip butters. My favorite has to be Rosy Lipped, it is a nice rosy
nude and evens out my natural lip color, I guess you
could call it a "my lips but better".

I'm not conclusive on the wear time, but I wore Rosy Lipped for about two hours around the house. The color had faded evenly in that time, but what I really love about these is that it actually feels like my lips are being moisturized. Unlike other "balms", "butters", and "whispers", these actually make my lips feel soft and hydrated, I could easily skip my lip balm during the day when I am out and about for one of these.

I would recommend these if you like this sort of hybrid between a lip color and an actual balm. I would not replace my holy grail lip balm over these, but I would use these throughout the day to keep my lips moisturized. Let me know what you think!

Flower Cosmetics: Cheeks

I picked up 4 Creme Blushes (Forget Me Not, Peach Blossom, Pure Petunia, Rose-O-Den-Dron), and one Blush Bronzer Duo in Gloriously Golden.

I really loved the way that these applied. They were pigmented yet easily bendable. I love that you can sheer these out or build the intensity up.

You need a very light hand with the blush and bronzer. I really like that the lid is magnetized. These were extremely finely milled and felt like butter. This duo contains no shimmer, it's completely matte so the bronzer is great for contouring.

I really love these. I think the packaging is adorable, I love the rose gold detailing and I am really liking the pigmentation throughout this line. What are your thoughts?

Flower Cosmetics: Lip Products

Flower Cosmetics recently launched at Walmart and I picked up a few items, I am going to be splitting this post in 4. Lips, cheeks, face, and nails.

The lipsticks in the black tube are very creamy and have a gloss finish. I find these wear 2-4 hours on my lips depending on if I eat or drink anything. There are 10 black tube lipsticks in the line, I have 5. These have great pigmentation and didn't feel drying.

LS10: Peachy Nude
LS 11: Baby Pinkish Nude
LS12: Pinky Mauve
LS13 and LS14 are very similar, you could just pick up one of these and get the same effect on the lips. I'd describe them as Orange-y corals.

LS1: Nude, more brown
LS2: Pinky Mauve
LS7: Peachy Orange
LS9: Bright Fuchsia

These lipsticks apply a bit more dry and have a velvet finish, but are still creamy. I wore these for 3-4 hours. I don't have the names of the two lip butters, so I wasn't going to guess. I have 4 of these lipsticks out of 10.   These feel a bit more heavy on the lips compared to the Maybelline Whispers but lighter than the Revlon Lip Butters. You can shear these out or build them up for a more opaque color, I got 2-3 hours of wear on these.

LG1: Peachy Nude
LG2: Milky Pink
LG3: Baby Pink
LG4: Light Fucshia
LG5: Pinky Mauve
LG6: Coral
LG10: Dark Red
These lip glosses have no shimmer and don't feel sticky on the lips. I was able to sheer them out or build them up on the lips, I think these pair great over top the lipsticks in this collection.

I really like the quality in these products and completely recommend these lipsticks and glosses.  I love the formula, color selection, and packaging and I appreciate the drugstore price.

Cream Shadows: What I'm wearing for Spring

I wear a cream shadow as primer often, it helps my shadow stay put while boosting the shadow. I also love to wear them on their own, here is my top 5!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked in Pink and Tenacious Teal. These stay put. I blend Inked In Pink all over the lid, I love the pink metallic shade, it doesn't make me look sickly or like I have an eye infection, that is a plus.

I've been taking Tenacious Teal and smudging it in my upper lash line, thinking on the outter corner and coming in thinner towards the center. This gives me a pop of color but isn't overly colorful, I normally stay fairly neutral during Spring and Summer.

Benefits Gabbi is one of the most creamy shadows I've ever tried. It blends beautifully and looks great on the lid blended out with MAC's soft brows or a shadow from the UD Naked Basics Palette.

Chanel's Emerveille is a hybrid between a power shadow and a cream shadow, it almost has a foam like texture, sort of bouncy. It applies smoothly and stays all day, this over the lid by itself is a favorite.

MAC's Painterly Paint Pot is something I use regularly on its own or under powder shadows. It is a rosy flesh tone shadow that cancels out any color on my lids leaving me with a blank canvas. I've been wearing this all over the lid up to the brown bone with soft brown in the crease and a colored liner, recently Tenacious Teal.

Hello all!
I'm Amanda. I am about to graduate with my degree and wanted something to fill some time! I've decided to make a blog dedicated to things that interest me, mainly beauty related but not limited to just that. I am going to try and post a few times a week. As a college student I think I've learned a few tips and tricks and hope to share them with you! :)
